Dragon Age Inquisitors!

My fancy word for it is “Charactergenesis.” Since a kid, I’ve loved imagining and creating my own characters, people that exist in the fictional universes of my favorite heroes as well as in universes that I create. This love underpinned my preoccupation with RPG’s – the questions of “what are they like?” and “what can they do?” and “what are their limitations?” got my soulmotor running!

That’s why I love RPG’s like Dragon Age. Start with a character concept, then introduce it to a world where you’re not fully in control – of how they look, how they speak, or what happens to them. That tension can be frustrating but what you end up with is a character that has been co-created with the game, someone not quite what you expected, with a life of their own.

C’est bien! Gryt and I played through Dragon Age: Inquisition a few times, but each of us has a canon universe with our “prime” versions of the character (incidentally, thank you Bioware for the swimming upstream against EA and giving us the Keep!).  This article introduces you to them!

The stats with these characters are more on a D&D theme because I prefer it that way 😉

Politics/Values: Prizes individual liberty.  Sees politics as a game. Tolerant atheist. Mages should be secular and self-governing; doesn’t support Vivienne’s Circle. Templars should be an emergency measure only.  Gaspard needed to be removed from the board. Did not support Leliana as Divine but sees some of the benefits. Allied with the Qunari but doesn’t like the Qun. Dissolved the Inquisition.

Combat:  Melee: none.  Ranged: Longbow of the Griffon (standard) and Arrowood (final).  Magic: none.

Current Goals/Activities:  Determining what to do about Solas, and on the lookout for a blood mage to replace her arm.  Running missions for Red Jenny!
